Barangay Candahug in Palo, Leyte is home to the historic Red Beach where the American liberation forces, led by Gen. Douglas MacArthur, first landed to liberate the Philippines from Japan on October 20, 1944.

I went here at around 3pm on July 17, 2013 to see the Leyte Landing Memorial. This was during my first time in Leyte, the 21st province on my list.
