Volga Manor, located by the beautiful Ashi River on the outskirts of Harbin,is a theme park covering a land of 600,000 square meters where you can enjoy Russian culture and scenery, live a life like in Russia, and enjoy a fairy-tale world with its classic Russian architecture. Volga Manor is one of the culture tourist resort in Heilongjiang, China.
I stayed here on September 7-9, 2011 during my first time in mainland China, the first country on my list.
Volga Manor has copied more than 10 Russian classic buildings occupying a special position in the hears of Harbin resident such as demolished St Nicholas Church and Mini Ajiuer, the river restaurant in Sun Island.
How to go to Volga Manor
Take bus 340/377 in front of Tongxiang Store, Xiangfang District, to Chenggaozi town, then take suburb bus 340 (Sanjiazi route), get off at Volga Manor.
Drive straight along Hacheng Road, Xiangfang District, past Chenggaozi town by 7kms (see road marks “Russian style garden”); Drive straight along Changjing Road, and get into the Volga Road.
This beautiful log building was once the exhibition hall of Russian Nizhny Novgorod textile factory. It is now rebuilt as the Tourist Center which offers all kinds of services including consulting, receiving, guiding, medical care, sales of souvenirs and daily necessities.
Saint Nicholas Art Gallery (Church)
The model of the rebuilt Art Gallery was the Saint Nicholas Church of Harbin, which was one of the landmarks of Harbin. Those precious old pictures presented in the gallery will bring you back to the old Harbin 100 years ago.
Cupid Sculpture Garden
In the center of Cupid Sculpture Garden, there is a classical log-structured Birch Restaurant. Together with the world-famous statues symbolizing love, it produces an art atmosphere, therefore an ideal place for wedding ceremonies and other group activities.
Pushkin Salon, in accordance with the architectural style built in the 19th century Russia, is named after the great Russian poet Alexander Pushkin. As the founder of modern Russian literature and language, the Russian government set his birthday June 6 as the “Russian Day.”
