Panubli-On: The Roxas City Museum and Guardian of Precious Things

Panubli-On, the official name of the Roxas City Museum, is a museum in Roxas City, Capiz, the Philippines. It is responsible for collecting, storing, and preserving artifacts, artworks, and  memorabilia of sons and daughters of Roxas City.

I went here at 7:01 a.m. on September 20, 2013 with my college friend, Jason. This was during my firs time in Capiz, the 28th province on my list.

Understand

Panubli-On was originally built in 1910 as a circular water tank by President Pastor Alcazar, third president of the town of Capiz (1908-12) that served the local residents for more than three decades. However, the water tank had outlived its usefulness. The city government converted it into a museum and named it Panubli-on. Panubli-on is a Hiligaynon term meaning guardian of precious things.
