Chinese-Baroque Historic Block that is located on Daowai Nan Street in Harbin, Heilongjiang, China. It is a nostalgic showcase of Baroque and other European architectural styles which influenced the architecture of the buildings situated there.
I went here at around 9 a.m. CST on September 7, 2011. This was during my first time in China, the first international country on my list.
Lying across the center of Daowai District, the core reserve starts from Nantoudao Street and Jingyang Street in the west to Nansidao Street in the east and begins from Tongha First Street, Shengping Street in the north to enclosed region of Chunhua Alley and Nanxun Street or west side of Jingyu Street (Nansidao Street to Nanshidao Street) in the south, with a coverage of 17.2 hectares.
Harbin Chinese-Baroque Historic Block is currently the best-preserved traditional building community combining Chinese and Western styles with a precious value of regional culture and historic records.
