From Php8.50 per passenger, minimum jeepney fares will revert to Php8 per passenger on Tuesday following the signed order of automatic rollback in jeepney fares by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB).

The regulatory board said Monday that the automatic fare rollback was triggered after the price of diesel fell below Php45 per liter as it was a condition of the provisional fare adjustment last March. Meanwhile, if the price of diesel climbs to around Php48 per liter LTFRB board member Manuel Iway said fares may be hiked back to Php8.50 per passenger.
