The P3.5 billion Bicol International Airport is expected to further boost tourism in the region having strategically located on a 200-hectare plateau just 15 kilometers from the Mayon Volcano, a major tourist destination. It is also expected to introduce more opportunities especially in Daraga as local officials are now considering cityhood in the near future or upon the completion of the said international airport.
