The Department of Tourism (Kagawaran ng Turismo, DOT, KNT) is one of the nineteen executive departments of the Philippine government responsible for the promotion and development of the Philippines as a tourist destination and regulation of the Philippine tourism industry both from within the Philippines and from other countries to the Philippines as a major socio-economic activity to spread the benefits of tourism (generate employment, foreign currency) to both the private and public sector.

The political head of the department is the Secretary of Tourism; as of September 2013 this is Ramon R. Jimenez.

Since January 2012, the Department of Tourism uses the It’s more fun in the Philippines slogan. According to Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., the slogan answers the fundamental question: “Why the Philippines?”

On October 30, 2013 the Department of Tourism announced that they just moved to their new headquarters at Buendia and their former headquarters at Agrifina Circle will become the new Philippine Museum of Natural History by 2015.
