Madonna of Japan, also known as Madonna Maria Kanonat, is a symbol of friendship between the Japanese and Filipinos. It is located along Magsaysay Boulevard at the Kanhuraw Hill beside the Tacloban City Hall, facing Kankabato Bay.
A stone monument of the Madonna Maria Kannon is erected in memory of the brave soldiers who fought and died in this battlefield.
I went here around 9AM July 18, 2013. This was during my first time in Leyte, the 21st province on my list.
