Philippine Airlines on Thursday said budget unit AirPhil Express will rebrand as PAL Express.

Proposal to the Securities and Exchange Commission for the name change has already been submitted. The company is currently waiting for its approval.
PAL is positioning itself as a hybrid model, allowing the flag carrier Philippine Airlines to offer both long haul and budget routes.
