Yes, I climbed up the Great Wall of China!
One of the world’s most iconic human-made structures, the Great Wall of China is instantly recognizable and have come to symbolize China. So much so, that I told myself that I must see and climb it all cost.
Though not really visible from space, the walls were built from the end of the 15th century to the start of the 16th (using an existing wall dating back 2000 years), it stretches an incredible 6,350 km (3,946 m).
I started to climb the Great Wall of China in Badaling at 2:20PM, I arrived at the top by 3:09PM, and then returned by 3:39PM. From the parking lot to the top and back, it took me 1 hour and 19 minutes. That’s more than an hour of sweat, thirst, pain, and nirvana.
At the end of the day, I finally scratched another one off the bucket list.
