Mount Danglay is a mountain located in the towns of Santa Rita and Basey in Samar province, in the Philippines. This mountain is popular among mountain climbers and campers; it is one of the major tourist attraction of the two municipalities.
I saw this mountain at around 10:30 a.m. on July 18, 2013 when I was at the Leyte Park Hotel. This was during my first time in Leyte and Samar, the 21st and 22nd province on my list.
According to the locals, Mount Danglay was named in honor of the tragic couple, Dang and Mulay, where they are said to have been buried.
I’ve long wanted to climb this mountain and just when I thought it’d never happen, it did!
If you would be so much kind to indulge, I’d like to share the account of my climb seeing that there are almost no climb logs for this mountain. http://www.noone-special.com/2015/04/03/climbing-mount-danglay/
Thank you!
